2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil – Golden Ball Nominees

FIFA announced the shortlist of 10 nominees for the Golden Ball award at the 2014 World Cup on Friday, along with the three candidates for the respective Golden Glove and Young Player awards.

Seven of them for the best player at tournament come from the finalists, Germany and Argentina.

The winner will be announced shortly after Sunday’s final match.

Best Player Nominees:

  • Thomas Mueller, Mats Hummels, Toni Kroos, and Philipp Lahm (Germany)
  • Lionel Messi, Angel Di Maria, and Javier Mascherano (Argentina)
  • James Rodriguez (Colombia)
  • Neymar (Brazil)
  • Arjen Robben (Netherlands)

Golden Glove Candidates: Manuel Neuer (Germany), Sergio Romero (Argentina), and Keylor Navas (Costa Rica).

Candidates for Best Young Player: Paul Pogba (France), Raphael Varene (France), dan Memphis Depay (Holland).

2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa:

  • Golden Ball: Diego Forlán (Uruguay)
  • Golden Boot: Thomas Müller (Germany)
  • Golden Glove: Iker Casillas (Spain)
  • Best Young Player: Thomas Müller (Germany)
